Greeks trust Putin over Trump, survey finds

Vladimir Putin is more trusted than Donald Trump "to do the right thing" for the world among Greeks, according to a survey released Wednesday.

Half of Greeks surveyed said they had confidence in the Russian President, while only 19 percent said the same of his US counterpart, according to the poll by the respected Pew Research Center.

600 Armed Military to Protect the Border Between Turkey and Bulgaria

Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Krasimir Karakachanov has said that in the future Bulgaria is going to use its army to guard its border with Turkey, reported bTV. 

The border between the two states will be divided into five zones and will be protected by 600 armed military, Karakachanov explained.

Court Rejects Bosnian Serb Claim to Army Facilities

Bosnia and Herzegovina's Constitutional Court has rejected an appeal from the Attorney's Office of Republika Srpska, Bosnia's Serb-dominated entity - ruling that the state, and not the entity, owns military facilities on the Veliki Zep mountain near the town of Han Pijesak.

The Constitutional Court's ruling is final, but political leaders in Republika Srpska have vowed to ignore it.

Russia understands Turkey's stance on the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) better than the United States does, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has said, while also voicing Ankara's dissatisfaction on the U.S. decision to arm the group.

Speaking to Turkey's state-run broadcaster TRT Haber on Aug. 16, Çavuşoğlu said Russia did not send any weapons to the YPG.

Washington is arming YPG forces fighting Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Syria, alarming their NATO ally Turkey, who regards them as an extension of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
