The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) is not present in coalition preparation mechanisms. HDP co-chair Selahattin Demirta? declared at the very beginning that they would not have such a relation with the Justice and Development Party (AKP). Despite this, Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu held the longest meeting at the HDP headquarters, lasting one hour and 58 minutes. Why? 

The first round of coalition talks has clearly shown the Republican People's Party (CHP) was eager to join the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in a coalition government, while the two other opposition parties, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), have voiced their reluctance. 

Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu has said his coalition talks with opposition parties will certainly include lowering the 10 percent national election threshold, but the level of the drop will be decided with any governing partner.  

Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu has completed the first round of coalition talks with other party leaders, delivering warm messages after each of the three meetings, inevitably raising hopes for the second round that will be conducted next week despite the absence of any concrete commitments from any party.

The Interior Ministry has launched an investigation into Istanbul's Ata?ehir District Municipality over corruption claims that have recently hit headlines.

The ministry has given permission for an investigation into graft claims against Ata?ehir Mayor Battal ?lgezdi as well as his municipality's Development Directorate, Building Inspection Directorate, and deputy mayors.
