Perran Kutman receives honorary award
Veteran actress Perran Kutman received an honorary award at the 20th Flying Broom International Women Films Festival on May 23 at the State Opera and Ballet Hall in Ankara.
Kutman was presented her award by the founders of the festival, Halime Güner and Damla Akkaşık.

Ayd?n Gün Award goes to young violinist
The annual Ayd?n Gün Encouragement Award has been presented every year since 2012 by the Istanbul Foundation of Culture and Arts (?KSV) to promising young musicians in the field of classical music to help support their development. This year the award was given to 24-year-old violin virtuoso Emre Engin.

The Bulgaria city of Ruse hosts a festival of ice sculptures on Svoboda (Liberty) square between December 14 and 22.

Curtain set to rise on Istanbul Opera Festival
The 6th International Istanbul Opera Festival, organized by the General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet, will open on June 8 with the famous "Abduction from Seraglio," which has become a symbol of the festival.
The opera will also be staged on June 9 by the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet at the Istanbul Archaeological Museum Garden.
