Tourism revenues up 7 percent to reach $47 billion in 9 months

Türkiye's tourism revenue increased by 6.6 percent to $46.9 billion in the first 9 months of 2024 from a year ago, while foreign tourist arrivals rose 6.8 percent to 41.9 million in the same period, separate official data showed on Oct. 31.

Foreign trade gap narrows 31 percent in January-September

Türkiye's foreign trade deficit narrowed by 31.1 percent on a yearly basis to $60.43 billion this January-September, according to official new figures.

The country's exports totaled $191.75 billion in the nine-month period, up 2.6 percent, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said on Oct. 31.

Confidence in economy, inflation expectations improve

Confidence in the Turkish economy improved, while inflation expectations declined in October, separate surveys from the Central Bank and the statistics authority have shown.

The economic confidence index rose for a second month in raw, rising 3.2 percent in October from September, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said on Oct. 30.

Government plans $19 billion investment in transport in 2025

The Turkish government plans to invest 662.6 billion Turkish Liras ($19b billion) under several transport programs next year, according to the draft 2025 budget.

The government is pouring money into the transport infrastructure to keep up with fast technological developments in the industry.

Consumer morale improves for third straight month: Data

Consumer morale continued to improve for a third month in a row, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on Oct. 23.

The consumer confidence index rose by 3 percent month-on-month in October, followed by 0.6 percent and 2.4 percent increases recorded in August and September, respectively.

Contraction in industry depends, but job market improves

Annual decline in industrial production accelerated, but the unemployment rate fell for a second month in a row in August, separate data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) showed on Oct. 10.

Output in the key industry sector dropped by 5.3 percent year-on-year, after contracting 5 percent annually in July.
