According to the Serbian government, Brnabic told Kukan that membership in the Union is Serbia's strategic goal, but that reform measures should first of all be to contribute to the progress of the state and to the better life of its citizens.

The General Assembly of the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) decided on Friday to support a request to Minister of Justice Tudorel Toader to cancel the procedures for the removal from office of Romania's Attorney General Augustin Lazar.

This will happen since it received a letter from the Secretariat of the Venice Commission stating that they agree with the constitutional amendments made by the Ministry of Justice.

The chairman of PNL (National Liberal Party) criticized on Wednesday the decision of the Minister of Justice, Tudorel Toader, in regards to launching the revoking procedure of the Prosecutor General of Romania, Augustin Lazar, saying that this proposal is "absurd", "stupid" and "lacking arguments".

The National Liberal Party (PNL) and Save Romania Union (USR) request in the no-confidence motion titled "the Justice Minister, an F minister" the resignation from office of Tudorel Toader and accuse him, in 20 items, that through his behaviour "he abandoned justice in the hands of criminals" and "has sent Romania backwards, to the Nastase-Stanoiu times, when cases were solved in party meetings

According to the government, Brnabic said during the meeting that "macroeconomic stability, public administration reform and the rule of law are the pillars of long-term development Serbia, and not just conditions for full EU membership."

The President of the Senate, Calin Popescu-Tariceanu, declared on Thursday, after the meeting with the governing coalition, that Minister of Justice Tudorel Toader made a presentation of the emergency ordinance which will take on "a series" of recommendations from the Venice Commission concerning the Justice laws, specifying that this normative act will not contain provisions concerning amnesty

Prime minister Viorica Dancila resumed on Thursday in the opening of the gov't sitting the message she has recently transmitted in the plenum of the European Parliament, reasserting that Romania maintains its European path, observes the rule of law.

Romania is not in the situation of Poland or Hungary to receive sanctions against an EU member state under Article 7 of the Treaty, Justice Minister Tudorel Toader said on Wednesday in Strasbourg.
