Environment Ministry to cooperate more closely with Pahor’s climate advisors
Ljubljana – Environment Minister Andrej Vizjak met President Borut Pahor on Monday ahead of the nearing fifth anniversary of signing of the Paris Agreement. The pair agreed on closer cooperation between the ministry and Pahor’s permanent advisory committee on climate change.
Pahor makes renewed appeal for cross-party dialogue
Ljubljana – President Borut Pahor made a renewed appeal for cross-party effort to break out of the crisis, as he addressed a ceremony on Friday ahead of the 30th anniversary of a cross-party agreement on the independence referendum.
Top science accolades go to researcher and professor emeritus
Ljubljana – This year’s Zois Prizes for lifetime achievement in science and research have been bestowed on researcher Tamara Lah Turnšek of the National Institute of Biology and University of Ljubljana professor emeritus Radovan Stanislav Pejovnik. The recipients were presented in a documentary showed on TV Slovenija last evening.
Eleven innovations receive Golden Awards from GZS
Ljubljana – Eleven innovations received top awards from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) as part of Innovation Day on Monday. The online ceremony was also addressed by President Borut Pahor, who labelled the economy and the creative sector two pillars of social development, with the key to progress lying in their cooperation.

Slovenia highlights role of efforts to end violence against women
Ljubljana/Velenje – Ahead of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, observed on Wednesday, Slovenia called for ending violence against women. Human Rights Ombudsman Peter Svetina said that raising awareness about such efforts is key, noting that Covid-19 has led to a rise in domestic violence.
Slovenia remembers WWI general
Ljubljana – Slovenia observed on Monday Rudolf Maister Day, a public holiday in memory of the general who established the first Slovenian army in modern history and secured what would became Slovenia’s northern border.

Decade after arbitration referendum Slovenia, Croatia still on opposite sides
The arbitration agreement was signed by the then prime ministers Borut Pahor and Jadranka Kosor in Stockholm on 4 November 2009 following almost two decades of failed border talks.

According to him, President of the European Council Charles Michel announced the gathering of Western Balkans leaders in February.
"I expect Michel to soon organize some kind of rally in February that will bring together all the leaders in the Western Balkans, so that we can continue dialogue", Vucic told Television Pink.
