Boryana Kaleyn secured victory and Stiliana Nikolova clinched second place in the women's all-around competition at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup held in Sofia.

Boryana Kaleyn, the European champion from Baku in 2023, is the Female Gymnast of the Year in the European Gymnastics ranking. This is the second distinction for the Bulgarian gymnast, who also claimed the top spot in 2021.

Bulgaria's female competitors won the team title at the 40th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in the Spanish city of Valencia. Thus, the team takes the gold again after a break of 30 years, BTA reported.

Bulgaria already has 10 quotas for the Olympic Games in Paris, which will be held next summer. Yesterday, Boryana Kaleyn won two silver medals at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship in Valencia and brought Bulgaria a second individual quota.

Bulgarian athletes completely dominated and won a record 13 medals at the 39th European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Baku. Boryana Kaleyn, Stiliyana Nikolova, Eva Brezalieva and the ensembles for women and girls won five gold, five silver and three bronze medals. Thus, Bulgaria finished in first place in the medal ranking, ahead of Italy and Israel.

Boryana Kaleyn, Stiliyana Nikolova, Eva Brezalieva and the Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics ensemble became team champions at the European Championships in Baku.

After Boryana Kaleyn won the all-around title earlier yesterday, the ensemble also won the gold medals.

The Bulgarian women's rhythmic gymnastics team won a gold medal in the senior group 5 balls final of the Varna 2021 European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics.

Over the course of a week, a series of events were held in Sofia under the motto "Be active, find your sport, choose your sport club". The fifth edition of European Sport Week #BeActive was the largest ever. The International Gymnastics Federation Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships returned to Bulgaria after 31 years and competition got underway in the ball and hoop disciplines.

The qualification process is a two day event, with half the gymnasts beginning with the hoop event and half performing with the ball.
