The court in Podgorica on Monday has jailed Luka Lazarevic for three-and-a-half months for throwing a flare at Russian goalkeeper Igor Akinfeyev at last month's chaotic football match.

Lazarevic was convicted of violent behaviour at a sporting events and of causing injuries. He will have to pay an additional 750 euro fine.

Montenegrin police have arrested two fan suspected of throwing a flare at Russian goalkeeper Igor Akinfeyev at last Friday's chaotic football match, which had to be called off before time.

UEFA is expected to start disciplinary proceedings against Montenegro after Friday's Euro 2016 qualifier with Russia was abandoned amid battles on the pitch.

The Group G game in Podgorica was hit by trouble from the start after Russia's goalkeeper, Igor Akinfeev, was struck on the head by a flare thrown from the stands and had to be taken to hospital.
