Digit minister discusses semiconductors in Brussels

Brussels – Slovenian Minister for Digital Transformation Emilija Stojmenova Duh met two EU commissioners in Brussels on Monday, discussing with Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton Slovenia’s more active participation in the EU’s efforts to increase its resilience and competitiveness in semiconductor technologies.

Minister announces changes to digital inclusion act

Ljubljana – The Government Office for Digital Transformation is drawing up changes to the act on digital inclusion, which introduced digital vouchers for students and the elderly. Under the act adopted under the previous government, most money would go for digital equipment, while this government plans to allocate more money for digital literacy courses.

PM Golob indicates polycentric development of Slovenia

Maribor – Prime Minister Robert Golob visited Maribor, Slovenia’s second largest city, on Monday, underlining that the only right way forward for the country is polycentric development. He believes the eastern half of the country needs a capital that would equal Ljubljana, adding that Maribor has a lot to offer.

Ljubljana – Emilija Stojmenova Duh, the candidate for minister of digital transformation, has pledged to build on what has been done well in the field in the past. Her priorities would be to narrow the digital divide and pave the way for society’s effective digital transformation, she told the relevant parliamentary committee before getting its nod Saturday.

Crowd gathers in support of student appearing in court over school rally
