Eugen Tomac was elected on Saturday as the new Chairman of the People's Movement Party (PMP).
The new executive chairman of the party is Marius Pascan and Dorinel Onaca is the secretary general.

PMP's Extraordinary Congress meeting has started
The Extraordinary Congress meeting of the People's Movement Party (PMP) started on Saturday at the Parliament Palace.
During the meeting, the PMP will designate its new leadership, including the new chairman, after Traian Basescu announced his withdrawal from the helm of the party.

Romania Opposition Party Elects New Chief
The centre-right opposition Popular Movement Party, PMP, elected a new leader at a congress on Sunday in the Romanian capital.
Eugen Tomac, 34, received over 90 per cent of the delegates to the congress. In his first speech, Tomac said he was convinced that the party could win the next elections and "make Romania stay proud among the EU countries".
