Djokovic to face Kovacevic in Roland Garros opener

PARIS - Serbia's top-ranked male tennis player Novak Djokovic was on Thursday drawn to play American Aleksandar Kovacevic in the first round of Roland Garros and could face current world number one Carlos Alcaraz as early as in the semi-finals.

He will potentially face Russian Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals and Daniil Medvedev in the final.

Serbians Lajovic, Djere through to Srpska Open second round

BANJALUKA - Serbian tennis players Dusan Lajovic and Laslo Djere are through to the second round of the men's singles event at the Srpska Open tournament in Banjaluka.

Lajovic defeated compatriot Filip Krajinovic 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 in the first round after two hours and 20 minutes of play.

The match was finished on Tuesday after being interrupted by a rain delay on Monday.

Djokovic, Wawrinka and Monfils to play at Srpska Open in Banjaluka

BANJALUKA - The world number one in men's tennis, Serbia's Novak Djokovic, Gael Monfils of France and Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland will play at the April 16-23 Srpska Open ATP tournament in Banjaluka, the organisers announced on Tuesday.

Serbians Laslo Djere, Filip Krajinovic and Dusan Lajovic will also compete at the tournament.

Novak kept leading position

Although he did not have the opportunity to defend the trophy in Melbourne, which ended in the hands of Rafael Nadal, Djokovic remained at the top.
Daniil Medvedev, who with a potential triumph in the final had the opportunity to win points that would overtake Novak, suffered a defeat and therefore remained in second place.

Novak Djokovic is officially back on top

Djokovic completed his impressive comeback by qualifying for the final game of the Paris Masters. He eventually lost the match to Karen Khachanov of Russia - but earned 600 new points and emerged at the top of the ATP list for the fourth time in his career.
