The event was described as "the biggest of its kind in this part of Europe and one of the hallmarks of Belgrade."

BELGRADE -- The Belgrade City Assembly decided on Tuesday that May 10 will be marked as a remembrance day for the Holocaust victims in Belgrade.
The session on Tuesday underlined that Jews are an important part of the Serbian capital's history, its present and future, Tanjug reported.

Vesic: Belgrade will reduce number of centers for evacuees
BELGRADE - Goran Vesic, manager of the City of Belgrade, said Sunday that the number of relief centers in Belgrade will be reduced next week, adding that peak water levels in the capital are dropping today and the banks of the Sava and Danube Rivers are safe.
Nikodijevic elected president of Belgrade city assembly
BELGRADE - Nikola Nikodijevic of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) was elected president of the Belgrade city assembly on Wednesday, by the votes of 84 assembly members.
A total of 102 out of 110 assembly members cast their votes for the new city assembly president.
After the election, Nikodijevic assumed the role of chairman of the constitutive meeting.
Belgrade mayor will not be elected on Wednesday
BELGRADE - The next mayor of Belgrade will not be elected during the constitutive meeting of the city assembly on Wednesday, but it will be revealed which parties are going to form the new government in the city, secretary of the city's interim authority Goran Vesic has said.
