Turkish warplanes have bombed the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militant targets in southeastern Turkey as well as nothern Iraq, destroying ammunition and fuel depots and killing five militants, the army said on Sept. 21.

One village guard has been killed and one has been wounded in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers? Party (PKK) attack in the Silopi district of the southeastern province of ??rnak.
Turkish soloists to perform at German castles
The Turkish Karia Baroque Ensemble will perform at castles in the German city of Coburg between Sept. 24 and 27.
The ensemble, which was founded in 2009 by Gülderen Erdo?mu?, is made up of counter tenors Nuri Harun Ate?, Kaan Buldular and mezzo sopranos Erdo?mu?, Esen Demirci Deveci and Esra Özbir.

Turkish president set to attend anti-terror rally in France
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an is scheduled to go to Strasbourg on Oct. 4 to attend a rally to protest recent attacks by militants.
The rally was announced by the president's top secretary, Hasan Do?an, on his Twitter account.
'Abluka' wins big at Golden Boll
The 22nd Golden Boll Film Festival, organized in the southern Turkish province of Adana, ended on Sept. 19. The Best Film Award of the festival went to Emin Alper?s ?Abluka? (Frenzy).
The film also won the Best Director of Arts Award, Best Fiction, the Promising Actor Award and the Adana Audience Award.

At least 26 security forces wounded in bus explosion in Istanbul
At least 26 police officers were wounded in an explosion in Istanbul's Aksaray neighborhood on Sept. 20.
26 migrants missing in sea off Greece: Coastguard
Twenty-six migrants were feared missing early on Sept.20 after a dinghy carrying them sank off the Greek island of Lesbos, the coastguard said.
Their nationalities were not immediately known. A search and rescue operation was under way and 20 other people were pulled from the water, a coastguard spokeswoman said.

Turkish army releases footage from Cyprus operation in 1974
Turkey's General Staff has released previously unseen footage from the 1974 military operation in Cyprus to mark the landing's 41st anniversary.
On July 20, 1974 Turkish military intervened in the island in response to an Athens-backed coup aiming to unite Cyprus with Greece.
Turkish columnist detained in ?zmir
Gültekin Avc?, a columnist for daily Bugün, was detained on Sept. 18 in the Aegean province of ?zmir as a part of an investigation into an alleged terrorist organization.
Avc?, also the lawyer of Samanyolu Medya Group chairman Hidayet Karaca, was detained as a part of the Selam Tevhid investigation.
