Turkey wants estranged Egypt to be part of working group on Libya
Turkey has expressed willingness for Egypt to take part in a proposed working group formed to coordinate international efforts in Libya, which has been mired in conflict following an uprising that toppled veteran leader Muammar Gaddafi five years ago, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu has said.
Obama calls for efforts to counter ISIL in Libya
U.S. President Barack Obama directed his national security advisers on Jan. 28 to counter efforts by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) to expand into Libya and other countries, the White House said.
ISIL militants have taken advantage of chaos in Libya to establish themselves in the city of Sirte, and they have carried out several attacks on oil installations this month.

Gaddafi Son Saif al-Islam Sentenced to Death
Saif al-Islam, a son of Libya's slain leader Col Muammar Gaddafi, has been sentenced to death over war crimes a Libyan court believes he committed during the 2011 uprising.
Eight other senior members of Gaddafi's regime have also been sentenced including former intelligence chief Abdullah Senussi.
Saif al-Islam's death sentence will be performed by a firing squad.

The United States Tuesday condemned a strike by Libyan aircraft that bombed an oil tanker off the Islamist-held port of Derna, killing two crew members.
The crewmen -- a Greek and a Romanian -- were killed on the Liberian-registered vessel, the Araevo.
Two other crewmen, both Filipinos, were wounded in the attack.
