Turkey, Russia Boost Economic Cooperation

Ankara is a "crucial" trade partner for Moscow, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said on Friday, according to TRT News. 

"Multi-dimensional cooperation of our countries is developing," Novak said while in Turkey's Aegean province of Izmir during an address at opening day of the 86th Izmir International Fair, where Russia is attending as a partner country.

Fifth provincial head resigns from ruling AKP after Erdoğan warns of 'fatigue'

The ruling Justice and Development Party's (AKP) provincial head in the Central Anatolian province of Aksaray, Abdulkadir Karatay, joined recent resignations from the party, following President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's warning against "fatigue" within the AKP. 

In a written statement on Aug. 18, Karatay said he would not run for the post again.

Turkey's Erdogan Calls German Leaders 'Enemies'

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called Germany's ruling politicians "enemies of Turkey" who deserve to be rejected by German-Turkish voters.

Germany will hold a general election on 24 September, and about one million ethnic Turks living in Germany can vote. A majority of them backed Mr Erdogan in an April referendum.
