Turkey sends Argentina condolences over Maradona

Turkey on Nov. 30 sent condolences to Argentina's Embassy in the capital Ankara over the death of legendary football player Maradona, who died of heart failure on Nov. 25. 

An official message by Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Önal expressed "deepest" sorrow over the legend's passing and said: "He made unique contributions to football in many ways."

Ankara rejects Egypt's accusations over Libya

Turkey's Foreign Ministry spokes person on June 6 rejected allegations Egypt leveled against Ankara regarding Libya.

Hami Aksoy said: "We reject the unfounded accusations of Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry against Turkey within the context of Libya in the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIL Small Group on June 4, 2020.

Turkish defense minister meets US envoy for talks on Idlib

Turkey's Defense Minister Hulusi Akar has met United States State Department's Special Envoy James Jeffrey and U.S. Ambassador to Ankara David Satterfield in the Turkish capital to discuss the ongoing conflict in Idlib where the Turkish army launched an offensive against the Syrian regime forces.

Turkish official briefs US envoy on situation in Idlib

The Turkish deputy foreign minister briefed the top U.S. diplomat in the country on developments in the wake of Feb. 27's attack on Turkish troops by regime forces in Idlib, northwestern Syria.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Önal met U.S. Ambassador to Turkey David Satterfield in Ankara on Friday, according to diplomatic sources.
