"An extremely interesting tourist season awaits us. According to a survey by the Ministry of Tourism, 74 percent of Bulgarians believe that the conditions for winter tourism in the country are excellent. But in view of the pandemic, there are a number of requirements that are related to the epidemiological situation that we must comply with.

Restaurants, hotels and bars will not close due to the covid pandemic. The state needs a working business, the business needs to work, but we will demand from it the necessary responsibility so that there is no lockdown.

The Prime Minister Stefan Yanev met this morning with representatives of the tourism industry in the Council of Ministers.

The meeting was also attended by four ministers - Finance, Tourism, Health and Economy. The aim was to discuss the problems of the sector and their work during the pandemic, as well as the compensation for business by the state.

Talks are underway to open other border crossings with Greece besides border checkpoint "Kulata". Very soon, in a week or a few days, this problem will be overcome.

Minister of Economy Kiril Petkov and Minister of Tourism Stella Baltova have held a video conference meeting with the trade attachés of Bulgaria. The ministers called for hard work in order to present the country as a first-class destination for investment, business and tourism.

There is no decision as of yet concerning flights from Russia for tourism purposes. We remind that nearly a month ago Russia suspended the flights of its tourists to Bulgaria and thus for a second summer season on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast there will be no Russian tourists in our resorts .

Thirty thousand Bulgarian school students and teachers will spend free vacations at tourist sites to support businesses under the "Together Again" programme. Each state and municipal school will be able to send no more than 70 children from the 1st to the 9th grade.
