The largest Bosniak party, the Party of Democratic Action, SDA, will start legal proceedings before the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, challenging the name of the Bosnia's mainly Serbian entity, Republika Srpska, the SDA announced on Wednesday.

The main board of Bosnian Serb opposition party the Serb Democratic Party, SDS, met on Sunday but failed to resolve internal differences that have deepened since its election defeat earlier this month.

After a nine-hour session, the board finally agreed to hold internal party elections in December.

The new leader of the main opposition party in Bosnia's mainly Serbian entity, Republika Srpska, has indicated that he he will adopt a tougher, more nationalistic line than his predecessor, advocating a referendum in the entity on the country's courts.
