Security for UEFA Super Cup game discussed
After 16 years, Greece will host a major soccer event, the UEFA Super Cup game between current Champions League title holders Manchester City and Europa League winners Sevilla.
The game, to be played at the Karaiskakis Stadium in the Piraeus neighborhood of Neo Faliro on August 16, will attract upwards of 15,000 supporters of the two teams.

Heroes of the 1821 War of Independence at the National Gallery
The work of Karl Krazeisen (1794-1878), a Bavarian captain and self-taught artist who spent time in Greece in 1826 and is responsible for capturing images of the pantheon of 1821 War of Independence heroes, is the subject of a timely exhibition at the National Gallery.

Pavlos Samios, who passed away so unexpectedly at the age of 73 earlier this month, was a man full of life. A man who was humble and kind. He never enjoyed talking about himself. He never had to. His career, his work, and most importantly his spirit, were testament enough.

New era for Cosco in Piraeus: Building the social face of a business giant
Cosco's presence has over recent years placed Greece's premier port city on the investment map, as was confirmed by the meeting that took place at the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus on 21 June.
The overarching conclusion of the meeting was that Piraeus can and must become a magnet for global investment in the years to come.
Marinakis stresses unity after Piraeus Victorious’ Moralis elected mayor
Olympiacos FC leader Vangelis Marinakis stressed the need for unity among the citizens of Piraeus and underlined that there are no losers in the Piraeus mayoral race in which incumbent Yannis Moralis won a second term.
Marinakis was the City Councilman who won re-election on Moralis' Piraeus Victorious ticket with most votes of any candidate.
First official results in Greece's three biggest municipalities
Costas Bakoyannis, Konstantinos Zervas and Yannis Moralis were elected new mayors in Athens, Thessaloniki and Piraeus respectively in the second round of regional and municipal elections on Sunday, according to a prediction based on the first official results.
