A Moscow-Sponsored School in Bulgaria is Closing its Doors

The "Yuri Gagarin" private school in the Bulgarian resort Kamchia, which is part of the largest children's camp outside the Russian Federation and owned by the Moscow City Hall, is closing its doors. The labor inspectorate in Varna has already received an application for the layoff of more than 30 people - teachers and employees.

Famous Adana kebab launched into space, reaches stratosphere

A kebab chef in the southern province of Adana has attempted to send a dish of "boru kebabı," roughly called "pipe kebab," into space with a weather balloon, which exploded in the stratosphere after a three-hour flight and fell into the Mediterranean Sea.

"I am a man who likes to make firsts," Yaşar Aydın told Demirören News Agency on April 12.

World Honors 60th Anniversary of First Manned Space Flight

Today, the world celebrates the 60th anniversary of the first manned space flight. On this day in 1961 Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first human to travel into space. The Russian Humanoid Robot "Fyodor" Has Been Sent into Space

Russian robot Fyodor or Fedor, officially designated Skybot F-850, has flown into space, international media reported.

The Soyuz capsule brought the humanoid robot into orbit, then headed for the International Space Station. 

"He made it to orbit and is en route to the International Space Station," NASA spokesperson Rob Navias said

Hunyadi, Gagarin to be honoured with monuments in Belgrade

BELGRADE - Hungarian military commander Janos Hunyadi (c 1406 - 1456) and Russian astronaut Yuri Gagarin (1934 - 1968) will be honoured with monuments in Belgrade, the City Assembly decided on Thursday.

The monument to Hunyadi - known among Serbs as Sibinjanin Janko - will be erected at the Zemun Quay with funds to be secured by the Hungarian embassy in Belgrade.
