Parliament President Zoe Konstantopoulou presented a review of the Greek Parliament’s work over the last six months during a press conference on Wednesday. Asked about the findings of the Debt Truth Committee, Konstantopoulou said that the findings of the commission “have not received adequate attention”. She added that “this does not mean we’ll do an autopsy.”

The ruling radical left (SYRIZA) coalition majority party decided to hold its party congress in September, its Central Committee decided after a 12-hour long meeting on Thursday night.

There might have been some photo ops between them to keep up appearances for party unity, but the rift runs deeper, as Parliament President Zoe Konstantopoulou attacked Greek PM Alexis Tsipras anew after his speech at the party’s Central Committee, Thursday.

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras called on his divided Syriza party to ballot its members on whether Greece had any alternative to accepting a tough bailout, setting up a showdown with far-left rebels threatening to split the party. 

Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has been asked by opposition party leaders to postpone elections after a new bailout program is completed. The request came during the luncheon at the presidency on Friday, however Tsipras did not reply.

Despite whatever assurances by some … ministers and warnings by the opposition to avoid at all costs, the specter of a snap election in September refuses to disappear.
