IMF mission, Serbian government reach agreement

BELGRADE -- The IMF mission and the government reached Monday an agreement to complete the first review of the precautionary Stand-By Arrangement approved to Serbia.

After two weeks of negotiations, Zuzana Murgasova, head of an IMF mission, announced on Thursday that Serbia and the IMF had reached a deal on three-year standby loan for a billion euros.

Murgasova said the IMF's Executive Board was expected to approve the deal.

The International Monetary Fund said Nov. 20 it had approved a new stand-by loan for Serbia worth around one billion euros ($1.25 billion) to help it achieve economic reforms.
      

USD 1bn precautionary deal reached with IMF

BELGRADE -- Serbian officials and an International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission have agreed on a three-year precautionary arrangement worth about USD 1 billion.

IMF mission head Zuzana Murgasova made the announcement during a press conference held the Serbian government.

BELGRADE -- Finance Minister Dušan Vujović has said that Serbia is discussing with the IMF a program that for the first time includes 12 public companies.

"All criteria will be set that will have to be adhered to, one of them being salary cuts," he said of the companies in question.

Serbian officials start talks with IMF delegation
