16 PKK militants 'neutralized' in two days in Turkey's Tunceli

A total of 16 outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants have been "neutralized" in the eastern province of Tunceli over the past two days, the Tunceli Governor's Office announced on April 27.

Authorities use the word "neutralized" to refer to militants who are killed, wounded or captured.       

12 killed in helicopter crash in Turkey's Tunceli

All 12 people on board a police helicopter that crashed in the eastern province of Tunceli were killed on April 18, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has said. 

Contact with the Sikorsky helicopter was lost at 11:43 a.m., Soylu said during press conference.

"There is no external factor behind the crash of the helicopter. It crashed due to bad weather conditions," he added.

Helicopter crashes in eastern Turkey with 12 on board

A Turkish police helicopter with at least 12 people on board, including police officers and judges, on Tuesday crashed in eastern Turkey, local media reported.
The chopper, whose passengers included two judges and seven policemen, crashed in the eastern province of Tunceli, the private NTV television said, without giving details on the cause of the crash.

Four PKK militants preparing for attacks caught on Turkish-Iraqi border

Four militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) have been caught in the Uludere district of the southeastern province of Şırnak while trying to cross the border from Iraq. 
The militants, who were trained in PKK camps in Iraq, were planning to stage bomb attacks in Turkey, according to a statement released by Turkish General Staff on March 24.
