İYİ Party misses deadline for submission of Mersin mayoral candidate name
Turkey's Supreme Election Board (YSK) has not ratified the mayoral candidacy of Burhanettin Kocamaz, who is running for the southern province of Mersin's metropolitan municipality on the İYİ (Good) Party's ticket, on grounds that the party's provincial branch submitted the nomination after the deadline of 5 p.m. on Feb. 19.
Ancient mosaics discovered in Osmaniye
Ancient mosaics were discovered on Jan 7 in the southern province of Osmaniye's Kadirli district, which is known for its radish production. One of the mosaics depicts a radish, officials said, adding that they also found the first written document regarding Kadirli on the mosaics.
