Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned the Italian ambassador in Ankara, Giorgio Marrapodi, on June 6 over PKK demonstrations in Rome, diplomatic sources said.

Nearly three dozen of people have been detained in operations launched in different cities over their suspected links to the terrorist organization PKK.

Security units launched the operations one day before the anniversary of the capture of Abdullah Öcalan, the jailed leader of the PKK, in order to prevent any terrorist actions.

An investigation was launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on Dec. 13 against a Peoples' Democratic Party's (HDP) congress over pro-PKK slogans.

The Anti-Terrorism Department of the General Directorate of Security said it filed a criminal complaint to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against an HDP congress held in Istanbul.

The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) must distance itself from the terrorist PKK, Meral Akşener, the leader of the opposition İYİ (Good) Party, has said.

"We have been stressing this for months: We put the HDP next to the PKK," Akşener said during her party's parliamentary group meeting yesterday, suggesting the HDP has close ties to the terror organization.

Turkey's Communications Director said late on April 9 that Greece harbors terrorist organizations that plot attacks and suicide bombings against Turkey.

Fahrettin Altun said the PKK is among terror groups that are supported by Greece.

Turkish Foreign Ministry has slammed international criticism over the move to revoke the seat of opposition Peoples' Democratic Party's (HDP) lawmaker, saying that to criticize the move amounts to intervening in the Turkish judiciary and that all should respect the ongoing judicial process.

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on Feb. 16 criticized the government for not taking the "necessary steps" to rescue 13 Turkish nationals that were killed by the illegal PKK group. The CHP leader has posed five questions to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and held him responsible over the incident.

The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and İYİ (Good) Party have gotten into a debate over "alliances" made in the 2019 local elections, as both parties either directly or indirectly endorsed the main opposition Republican People's Party's (CHP) candidates. 

Turkish football leagues can start at the beginning of June at the earliest, the Turkish Football Federation has said in a statement on April 3. 

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced on Feb. 25 that it had launched an investigation into the fourth Ordinary Congress of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) after the party played a slideshow that featured photographs of imprisoned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan.
