Lesvos rocked by early morning tremor
The eastern Aegean island of Lesvos was jolted early on Thursday morning by an earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale.
According to the Athens Geodynamic Institute, the tremor occurred at 3.55 a.m., while its epicenter was located at sea, 67 kilometers northwest of Mytilene town.

Zara to open megastore near Athens Airport
Greek real estate development company REDS announced on Wednesday that multinational apparel chain Zara has agreed to lease a space totaling more than 3,000 square meters at Smart Park in Spata, near Athens International Airport.
The retail and entertainment center is owned by REDS, a member of the Ellaktor group of companies.
This will be Zara's biggest store in Greece.

Turnstile installation closes down two Athens metro stations over the weekend
Two more stations of the Athens metro will remain closed this weekend as part of ongoing work to install turnstiles throughout the system.
The stations that will be closed to the public on Saturday and Sunday are Ilioupoli (Line 2) and Agia Paraskevi (Line 3). Trains will pass through them without stops.

Athens commuters are set for major travel disruptions Thursday due to a strike by workers on the Athens metro, tram and the Piraeus-Kifissia electric railway (ISAP).

No metro, tram or ISAP in Athens on Thursday
Workers on the Athens metro, tram and the Piraeus-Kifissia electric railway (ISAP) will strike on Thursday to protest new legislation that will allow the Athens Public Transport Organization (OASA) to make commercial use of stations and areas belonging to STASY, the operator of the capital's fixed-track public transport system.

Trianon's wheelchair lift a first for Athens cinemas
The historic Trianon cinema, near the Victoria ISAP railway station in central Athens, has announced that it has installed a wheelchair lift for the disabled.
It is reportedly the first cinema in the Greek capital to do so.
The movie theater also announced that tickets for disabled cinema-goers now cost 4 euros, which includes entry for caregivers.
Citizens' groups demand free pass for commuters
Members of citizens' groups calling for free public transportation for all commuters held a demonstration on Saturday at an Athens metro station.
Protesters blocked the entrance to the Attiki station and placed black plastic bags over ticket dispensing and validating machines.
