Turkish bank in northern Greece comes under attack

A branch of Turkey's Ziraat Bank in Komotini, northern Greece, was attacked with stones on Tuesday by a group of around 25 people.

Turkish news agency Anadolu said that the assailants claimed to be "anti-establishment anarchists" acting in solidarity with YPG, the Kurdish fighters in northwestern Syria who have come under attack by Turkey.

Downtown Athens metro station to close on Tuesday for Afrin rally

The Athens metro's Panepistimio station will be closed on Tuesday from 4.30 p.m. as members of leftist groups have arranged a rally to express solidarity with Syrian Kurds in Afrin who have come under attack by Turkish forces.

The demonstration is being organized by the far-left Popular Unity party together with organizations representing Kurds living in Greece.

Turkey slams EU’s top diplomat over Afrin remarks

Turkey’s EU Minister Ömer Çelik has slammed top EU diplomat Federica Mogherini’s voicing of concerns about the Turkish army’s ongoing operation into Syria’s Afrin district against the People’s Protection Units (YPG), saying Turkey’s “sole objective is to fight against terrorism and to protect its borders.”
