U.S. airlines are bracing customers for what will probably be another bumpy holiday weekend as the industry struggles to manage a surge in travel demand that probably exceeds its current capacity.

Headlines warn of airport chaos over the July 4th weekend and drawing scrutiny from Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and others in Washington.

Additional flights will be operated in August and September

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced that Pegasus Airlines Vice-Chairperson of the Board Mehmet Tevfik Nane has assumed his duties as chair of the IATA Board of Governors (BoG) for a one-year term, effective from the conclusion of the 78th IATA Annual General Meeting in Doha Qatar on June 21.

Turkish Airlines (THY) aims to achieve double-digit growth rates this year and in 2023, the chairman of the company's board and the executive committee has said.
