A 53-year-old woman and her 47-year-old partner are facing trial on charges of arson and assault after a domestic violence incident led to a house being set on fire Wednesday night in a village near the northern port city of Thessaloniki.

A 23-year-old man, who had been beaten by two suspects in Thessaloniki on Friday, remains hospitalized in critical condition after sustaining severe injuries.

The victim was assaulted by two men in the earlier hours Friday. One of the alleged suspects is a well-known trap music artist. 

A 56-year-old man was arrested on Saturday morning in downtown Athens after being accused of child pornography, rape and abuse of a minor. 

A 23-year-old Roma has been arrested in Megara, western Attica, facing charges of manslaughter and grievous bodily harm in connection with the brutal assault on his partner's 4-year-old son. The mother, who reported the stepfather to the police for the assault on her child, asserted that the man targeted the minor "because he did not want [the child]."

A shocking case of forced child marriage has led to the arrest of the victim's parents and the man she was made to marry, a sect member of a religious congregation affiliated with her father.

Police have arrested three teenagers, aged 14, 16 and 19 over the assault and mugging of two 14-year-olds. They were charged with causing grievous bodily harm and robbery in conspiracy, as well as for violating legislation on fan violence.

Six out of seven individuals who are accused of blackmailing shopkeepers in the southern suburbs of Athens were remanded in custody on Friday. 

A seventh defendant was conditionally released. All defendants denied accusations of belonging to a criminal gang, extortion, aggravated assault, damage to property and violation of the weapons law. 

A 27-year-old man was taken into custody on the island of Patmos on Friday following the sexual assault of a 70-year-old woman.

According to official reports, the incident occurred around 2.15 a.m. on Friday when a masked assailant forcefully entered the woman's home through an unlocked window. Armed with a small knife, he subjected her to physical and sexual assault.

Criminal charges for two felonies and four misdemeanors were brought against a 21-year-old arrested for sports-related violence against a 16-year-old due to the team insignia he had on his shirt on Tuesday afternoon, in the area of Evangelistria, Thessaloniki. 

The founder of the Ark of the World children's charity, along with seven staff members, is to stand trial on charges of indecent assault, mistreatment of minors and instigating abusive behavior against minors.
