Bulgarian Orthodox Church Marks the Assumption of Mary

On the 15th of August, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church celebrates the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, reports BNT. 

The day, also known as the Dormition of the Holy Mother of God, is one of the twelve great feasts in the church calendar. Festive liturgies will be held in all temples across the country.

American Foundation Gives $ 185,000 to Restore the Buzludzha Monument

The Buzludzha Monument will receive a $ 185,000 grant from the American Getty Foundation. The aim is to prepare a plan for its conservation and future use. This is said in a publication on the site of the organization, which describes the building as a "masterpiece of civil engineering" and "an indispensable part of Bulgarian history".

Survey: Nationalist Sentiment is Widely Spread Among Young Bulgarians

A representative study by the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation, presented in Brussels, shows that young people in the Balkan countries are passionate supporters of the European Union. The head of the foundation's office in Sofia, Helene Cortlander, expressed concern that among the young Bulgarians the patriotic and nationalist sentiments are strongly occupied.

Serbia Under Bulgarian Occupation: Documenting WWI Crimes

The central topic of Pisarri's book, which he developed out of his PhD thesis and which was originally published in Italian, is crimes against Serbian civilians in the part of the Kingdom of Serbia that was occupied by Bulgaria in 1915. The book will be issued in a Serbian translation this autumn.
