Long-awaited snowfall dusts Istanbul amid weekend curfew
After three days of almost incessant rainfall and occasional strong winds, Istanbul awoke to a surprise snowfall on a weekend that coincided with a curfew imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Anchovy most consumed seafood in 2020 in Istanbul
Istanbul's residents have consumed anchovies, known more widely in Turkish as "hamsi," bonito and haddock the most in 2020, according to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality data compiled by state-run Anadolu Agency.
Some 97 different fish species were brought to the main fish market in the Gürpınar neighborhood of the Beylikdüzü district, said municipality officials.

Istanbul Jazz Festival to feature over 300 artists
Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) for the 27th time this year, the "Istanbul Jazz Festival" will meet music enthusiasts between June 27 and July 14.
The festival, which will host over 300 local and foreign artists, will be held in 27 different venues of Istanbul.

19 injured in metrobus crash in Istanbul
A total of 19 people were injured on Dec. 3 when two metrobuses crashed on the Beylikdüzü-Zincirlikuyu line in Istanbul, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
