Honeyed Blessings: Commemorating St. Charalampius in Orthodox Tradition

Today, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church pays homage to St. Charalampius the Miracle Maker, commemorating his steadfast faith and miraculous deeds. This revered occasion holds special significance, marked by a unique tradition of consecrating honey with a special prayer after the liturgy, believed to bestow health and blessings upon those who partake.

Bishop fined for blessing the waters seaside

Ieronymos, Metropolitan Bishop of Egio and Kalavryta, in the Peloponnese, proceeded to bless the waters at the town of Egio, defying the instructions of the official Church.

He was accompanied by his predecessor, Amvrosios, a well-known extremist, who resigned in 2019, and two individuals who dove to retrieve a cross the bishop threw at sea.

Ivet Lalova-Collio Places 4th in Marseilles

Bulgarian athlete Ivet Lalova-Collio placed 4th in the 100 m sprint race at the athletics tournament in the French city if Marseilles, reported BNR.

 She finishted in 11.49 seconds. Winner with time of 11.17 seconds became Nigerian Blessing Okagbare, followed by Carole Zahi from France with 11.34 seconds and British Asha Philip with 11.43 seconds.
