EU Ready to Finance Bulgaria-Greece Gas Link, PM Borisov Says

Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said on Friday he has been assured by EU energy chief Maros Sefcovic that the European Commission will finance the construction of a gas interconnection between Bulgaria and its southern neighghbour Greece.

"I believe we'll be able to build it using European funds," Borisov told reporters in Brussels following a EU Council meeting.

Bulgarian Energy Holding Reshuffles Supervisory Board of Bulgartransgaz

The Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) has made changes to the Supervisory Board of state-owned gas transmission operator Bulgartransgaz.

The new members of the Supervisory Board of the company are Iliya Ivanov, Kiril Georgiev, and Vladimir Mitrushev.

They replace Krasimir Vitanov, Yovka Doychevska, and Denitsa Beyazova.

Nearly All Bulgargaz's Money Held in KTB

Bulgaria's state-owned gas supplier Bulgargaz has some 98.5% of its assets stored in Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB), data from the Economy Ministry shows.

A report cited by daily 24 chasa contains a list of companies holding over BGN 3 M in a single bank.

Only entities for which the sum accounts for more than a quarter of their assets are included.

Bulgaria Is Injecting Additional Quantities of Gas into Chiren Depot

Bulgaria's Ministry of Economy and Energy is preparing a stance on the steps it is taking in relation to the Russia -Ukraine gas dispute.

Energy Minister Dragomir Stoynev announced a few days ago that the government had responded to the latest development in the gas talks between Ukraine and Russia by starting to inject additional gas quantities into the Chiren gas storage facility.
