Bulgaria: 7 Million Vehicles Crossed Danube River Bridge at Vidin since Opening

Seven million vehicles have crossed the Vidin-Calafat bridge in the two directions between Bulgaria and Romania since the facility was commissioned in June 2013, Lyudmil Dimitrov, the new Executive Director of the joint Bulgarian-Romanian company which operates the bridge, said in a BTA interview.

Most H1 2021 tourist arrivals in Romania through Giurgiu, Calafat, Otopeni and Nadlac II border points

Giurgiu, Calafat, Otopeni and Nadlac II were the border checkpoints where most tourist arrivals in Romania were recorded in the first half of 2021, according to data centralised by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). Thus, in Giurgiu, 364,400 arrivals were reported, in Calafat 328,200, in Otopeni 184,100 and in Nadlac II 161,600 arrivals.

Sofia. There is heavy traffic of trucks exiting Bulgaria at Kulata, Kapitan Andreevo and Danube Bridge - Ruse checkpoints, Border Police told Focus News Agency at 06:00 am this morning. Traffic at the borders with Serbia and Macedonia is normal.

Freezing weather closes traffic on A2 motorway, eight county roads, restrict traffic on four national roads

The Bucharest-Drajna section of the A2 motorway has been preventively closed and action is being taken to clear up snow, traffic has been restricted on four national roads, while and eight county roads are closed because of heavy snowfall and strong winds.

Vidin - Calafat Danube Bridge Will be Temporarily Closed

Vidin - Calafat Danube Bridge (between Bulgaria and Romania) will be temporarily closed to all vehicle traffic, in both directions, from 13:00 to 14:00 on 18th of October, the press center of the Ministry of Interior announced, quoted by BNT. 

The closure is required due to routine technical maintainance of the bridge, Border Police explains.
