A unique gathering of climbers will take place on the beautiful island of Kalymnos, one of the world’s “hottest” climbing holiday destinations, from October the 10th, to October 11, 2015. Climbers from all over the world, athletes, as well as sport-climbing legends will attend this year’s event.

The Bulgarian mountaineer Boyan Petrov became on Wednesday the first Bulgarian to have ascended the eighth highest peak in the world - Manaslu in the Himalayas.

The information was announced by the website of the expedition - Seven Summit Treks Manaslu and has not yet been confirmed by Petrov himself, which will be possible only after he reaches the base camp.

The high-altitude thriller "Everest," which opened the Venice Film Festival on Sept. 2, should warn a lot of people off mountain climbing as two Turkish directors feel the thrill for prizes at the prestigious event. 

Two climbers completed a historic 19-day ascent to the summit of Yosemite National Park's El Capitan in California on Jan. 14 after scaling the rock formation's 900-meter sheer granite face without climbing tools, representatives said.
