Victoria’s Secret pays $8.3 mn settlement to sacked Thai workers

More than a thousand sacked Thai garment workers who made bras at a factory supplying lingerie giant Victoria's Secret have received a landmark $8.3 million settlement, labour rights activists said on May 28.

Brilliant Alliance Thai closed down its Samut Prakan factory in March 2021 after going bankrupt.    

China lockdowns weigh on Adidas’s first-quarter profit

German sportswear heavyweight Adidas on Friday reported a drop in its profits in the first quarter, as widespread coronavirus lockdowns hurt business in key market China.    

The group's net profit from its continuing operations fell to 310 million euros ($326 million), from 502 million euros in the same quarter last year.

Nike sues shopping platform StockX over sneaker NFTs

Athletics giant Nike has filed a lawsuit in New York against shopping platform StockX for creating and marketing NFTs -- the tamper-proof digital property certificates -- based on the brand's products without permission.

The company's lawyers accused US-based StockX of "minting" NFTs using Nike trademarks and trading on the brand's "goodwill" to market them.
