Romanian authorities are investigating two lawmakers for fraud related to the misuse of EU funds designed to support underprivileged Roma communities.

Following Bosnia's decision to apply for EU membership, a group of intellectuals and activists have called on the politicians not to misuse this historic step to advance their own careers.

Bulgaria will contribute EUR 50 000 to the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa after parliament ratified the agreement on the establishment of the fund on Friday.

Immigration has consolidated its place as the most important issue facing the EU currently, rising 20 percentage points in the last six months, a new survey requested and coordinated by the European Commission has shown.
