Red Star lose to CSKA in Moscow in basketball Euroleague

MOSCOW - Red Star Belgrade suffered a convincing 102-80 (33-26, 25-20, 19-18, 25-18) defeat to CSKA Moscow on the road in Thursday's Round 22 game of the Basketball Euroleague.

It was a routine win for the reigning European champions, who handed Red Star their toughest defeat of the season.

Partizan end Red Star's ABA League winning streak

BELGRADE - Partizan Belgrade defeated Red Star 86-81 (21-17, 25-29, 21-26, 19-9) in Round 21 of the regional ABA basketball league on Sunday, ending their arch-rivals' impressive 20-game winning streak in the competition.

This was also the Red-and-Whites' first defeat in the regional league in a year - once again at the hands of Partizan.

Deon Thompson joins Red Star Belgrade

BELGRADE - American basketball player Deon Thompson arrived in Belgrade on Monday as Red Star's latest signing, immediately making himself available to head coach Dejan Radonjic.

The power forward/center, who joined the regional and Serbian champions from Galatasaray, has signed a contract until the end of the season.

Red Star lose to Olympiacos in Athens

ATHENS - Red Star Belgrade lost to Olympiacos Piraeus 73-65 (22-18, 23-16, 11-9, 17-22) on the road in Round 13 of the basketball Euroleague on Tuesday.

Head coach Dejan Radonjic's men proved unable to upset the injury-hit hosts, who controlled the game throughout, largely thanks to sub-par 3-point shooting from Red Star (2/17).

Partizan held to goalless draw, Vojvodina win, Cukaricki lose

BELGRADE - Partizan Belgrade were held to a goalless draw by Polish side Zaglebie Lubin at home in Thursday's first leg of the second round of UEFA Europa League qualifiers.

Thanks to a great performance by goalkeeper Martin Polacek, Zaglebie came away undefeated despite being down to ten men from the 55th minute, when Michal Papadopulos was sent off.
