Greek factory activity contracts faster in May as new orders fall
Greek manufacturing activity shrank for the fourth month in a row in May as a big drop in new orders was accompanied by job losses and a fall in production, a survey showed on Wednesday.
Bulgaria's Musicautor Boosts Copyright Revenue to All-time High
Bulgarian music copyright management organization Musicautor has collected the highest annual revenue in its history, BGN 7.5 M (EUR 3.8), in 2015.
The figure is 49% higher than the revenue collected in the previous year, the non-profit association of composers, lyricists and music publishers said in a statement published on its website.

Photojournalists satisfied with lawmakers' decision
Photojournalists welcomed on Tuesday the Serbian parliament's decision to reject the draft interpretation of the law on copyright and related rights.
The draft said that copyright protection cannot extend to "routinely produced photographs appearing and taken over in electronic form, regardless of whether it is the author's original creation."
Photographers against copyright law draft
Representatives of several associations of photographers called on MPs Monday not to pass the draft interpretation of the Law on Copyright and Related Rights.
It considers electronic photographs to be “the result of mechanical actions, of routine, physical actions” that should not covered by copyright protection.

Insipid leadership makes normalization harder
Turkey held its election this June. Halfway through August, the country still has no government. Just before the election on June 7, 2015, I dubbed it as the outset of The Great Normalization in Turkey. That was published on June 6, 2015, mind you. There I noted a caveat, kind of a ?personality? problem that may hamper the transition process. Let me reiterate.

Big data or SMS marketing?
Recently in Turkey electronic means of marketing have been regulated harshly. However, the demand for sending texts by companies is not broken. One by one, companies are breaking the legislation or finding loop holes to exploit.
The Turkish craze over SMS marketing can seem absurd. After all, the world of marketing is transforming very fast and big data is at the core of it all.

Muslim denied can of coke so she wouldn’t use it as a weapon!
Tahera Ahmad, aged 31, was denied an unopened can of diet coke aboard her United Airlines flight from Chicago to Washington just after an unopened can was handed to another passenger. Ahmad, director of interfaith engagement and associate chaplain at Northwestern University, was told that the refusal to hand her a coke was so that she wouldn’t “use it as a weapon.”
