4506 Cases of Harassment and Bullying have been Registered in Schools in Bulgaria

There were 4506 cases of aggression and harassment during the past academic year. This was announced by Tanya Mihaylova, Deputy Minister of Education at the round table "Aggression in the Bulgarian Society - A Necessity to Counteract" in the Parliament, reports sega. 

There were 402 cases of violence against children and 39 cases of violence against teachers.

60% of the Children in Bulgaria do not Feel Safe at School

A survey of the Research Institute of Forensic Science and Criminology suggests that 60% of the children in Bulgaria do not feel safe at school.

The figures were released at a conference against violence in educational institutions by the head of the Juvenile Crime Department at the Interior Ministry.

Education Minister Unveils Anti-Aggression Plan

Education and Science Minister Nikolay Denkov on Monday unveiled an interdepatmental Plan for Agression Prevention and Better Security at the education institutions.

Denkov said ''We can expect that school aggression will end when becomes a fact in society. This, however, will not take place very soon, so we must take measures.''
