Today we celebrate the International Father's Day. Nearly 80 countries in the world celebrate Father's Day on the third Sunday of June.

The aim of the Day is to focus on the benefits of active participation of fathers in children's lives to create a family environment without violence and for the child's full development.

Almost two-thirds of Bulgarians believe that the state should intervene when children are at risk and their parents do not take the necessary care. This was announced by Sociologist Radostina Angelova from "Global Metrix".

Angelova pointed out that for the first time there was such a high public interest in public policies, especially those for children.

The number of gun violence incidents stemming from personal arms ownership has increased by 69 percent in the last four years, Umut (Hope) Foundation has said in a new report, stressing that 3,679 incidents of gun violence occurred only in 2018.
