‘Grow Greek Tourism Online’ initiative supported by Google

Google announced at a press conference on Wednesday that it supports the initiative “Grow Greek Tourism Online.”

In cooperation with the Economy, Development and Tourism Ministry and the National Greek Tourism Organisation as well as the Greek Tourism Enterprises Association, Google announced the implementation of a free web education platform for tourism.

Top service quality award to Istanbul Atatürk Airport

Istanbul Atatürk Airport improved its service quality the most in Europe over the past year, its operator said March 1, while noting that another of its airports, Skopje Airport, had been selected the best in Europe in its category. 

The ASQ program selected the TAV-run Istanbul Atatürk Airport as "the most improved airport" in Europe.

"Deep belief" in entrepreneurship as "heart of development"

The government "deeply believes entrepreneurs must be at the heart of economic development, so it earmarked RSD 16.06 billion in support."

Economy Minister Zeljko Sertic made this remark on Tuesday, during.the official presentation of "The Year of Entrepreneurship" at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

German unemployment at record low despite refugee influx

German unemployment remained at current historic lows in February despite a massive influx of refugees, as the recovery in Europe's biggest economy remains on track, data showed on March 1.

The unemployment rate - which measures the jobless total against the working population as a whole - stood at 6.2 percent in February, unchanged from January.     

Greece's Eurobank Completes Acquisition of Alpha Bank's Branch in Bulgaria

Bulgaria's Postbank, a subsidiary of the Greek Eurobank, successfully finalized on Tuesday the agreement on the acquisition of the operations of the Bulgarian branch of the Greek Alpha Bank.

With the acquisition, Postbank, legally known as Eurobank Bulgaria, has become the fourth largest bank in Bulgaria in terms of loans and deposits, with assets exceeding BGN 6.3 B.
