The burden borne by Greek industries due to the energy crisis and the large increases in the prices of electricity and natural gas consumed for the operation of factories and the production of their products is enormous.

With the world moving more and more towards green energy due to the climate crisis, Turkey, which has increased its renewable energy capacity, met 20 percent of its one-day energy generation from wind, breaking a production record.

Ljubljana – Soaring global energy prices are raising concerns in Slovenia, in particular in energy-intensive industry, which is already scaling down production in response to the situation. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) and the Energy Chamber are calling on the government to act. Boosting self sufficiency is also called for.

Ljubljana – The opposition Left has demanded for the parliamentary committees on infrastructure and social affairs to meet for a joint emergency session due to soaring energy prices. One of their proposals is regulating gas and power prices for end users.

Turkey is in a good position in terms of energy supplies compared to European countries amid the energy crisis that has exposed low stocks and skyrocketing energy prices, according to Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Dönmez on Oct. 13.

Maribor – The newspaper Večer is concerned in Saturday’s commentary that the Slovenian government is not working on any measures to stem rising energy prices, a global trend which the newspaper says will soon also strongly affect Slovenian households.

If current policy and technology trends continue, global energy consumption will grow by nearly 50 percent between 2020 and 2050, according to International Energy Outlook 2021 published by Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Oct. 6.

The energy crisis is becoming global, Bloomberg predicts today. Countries are increasingly relying on natural gas for efforts to stop burning more coal and switch to cleaner energy sources. Countries are bidding to stockpile blue fuel, and exporters like Russia are restricting exports. The situation will worsen when temperatures drop, the agency predicts.
