Energy official calls for investment in RES
Greece could become a power accumulator for Europe and support its energy independence through the necessary investment in renewable energy sources (RES), the secretary-general of the Hellenic Wind Energy Association (ELETAEN), Panayiotis Papastamatiou, stated on Tuesday, adding that "meeting the 2030 target for 55 percent of power coming from RES, we require investments of 17 billion euros."

Municipal bid to curb worker deaths
An Interior Ministry bill foresees stricter penalties for municipal authorities and employees who do not abide by health and safety regulations in a bid to curb an increase in worker accidents.
The bill, which is to go to Parliament in February, is to include the recommendations of a committee tasked with probing the causes of worker accidents.

Serbian unemployment rate "getting close to EU average"
This is according to Zoran Martinovic, director of the National Employment Service (NSZ).
The unemployment rate in the EU countries, according to the latest data, is about 6.7 percent.
According to Martinovic, Serbia can approach the EU average, as the current rate of 11.3 percent is encouraging.
