ForMin Aurescu: We are considering the launch of new public communication campaign on Visa Waiver

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) intends to launch a public communication campaign, in the context of efforts to include Romania in the Visa Waiver program, but also initiatives in the US Congress, so that Romanian citizens should not need a visa to travel to the USA, in the short term, announces the relevant minister, Bogdan Aurescu.

PSD's simple motion against Economy Minister defeated in Senate

The Senate rejected today by a vote of 55 to 72 and one abstention the simple motion against Economy Minister Claudiu Nasui, titled "Romania in agony, with Nasui at Economy". The 41 Social Democratic Party (PSD) senators who signed the motion demanded the "immediate" dismissal of Economy Minister Claudiu Nasui. The vote was secret, with balls.

Anonimul International Independent Film Festival to be held August 9-15 in Sfantu Gheorghe

The Anonimul International Independent Film Festival's 18th edition will take place between August 9 and 15, in Sfantu Gheorghe, in the Danube Delta. According to a press release of the Anonimul Foundation sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday, the call for entries for the short film competition is open until May 14.

Bulgarian and Macedonian Public Tv Broadcasters Signed Agreement for Cooperation

BNT Director General, Emil Koshlukov and his counterpart, Macedonian Radio and Television Director General, Maryan Tsvetkovski,  signed a co-operation agreement, intending to deepen joint work, exchange of information and production.

The two broadcasters reaffirmed their good working relationship, long-term partnership and looked to the future.

Deputy PM Kelemen Hunor: Most of bonuses for public employees to be cancelled as of 2022

Deputy Prime Minister Kelemen Hunor told Tuesday night private broadcaster Realitatea Plus that the large majority of the bonuses currently granted to the public employees will be cancelled, starting next year. The Deputy PM made it clear that the bonuses could be replaced by awards for those who perform and are efficient.

Serbian Court Convicts Bosnian Serb of Wartime Assault, Robbery

Belgrade Higher Court on Tuesday found Bosnian Serb ex-fighter Zeljko Budimir guilty after a retrial of beating up a Bosnian civilian and stealing his money in the village of Rejzovici in the Kljuc municipality in November 1992.

But the court acquitted Budimir of participating in the murders of the wife and mother-in-law of the Bosniak man, whose name was Ale Strkonjic.
