Greek choreograpger Dimitris Papaioannou nominated for six Emmys

Renowned Greek choreographer Dimitris Papaioannou and his team have been nominated for six Emmys for the opening ceremony they created for the 2015 European Games in Baku.

The ceremony, titled “Origins”, has been nominated in the categories of artistic direction, direction, costumes, music and lighting.

Bulgaria's Stoevi Sisters Win Gold at Women's Doubles Bandminton in Mersin

Stefani Stoeva and Gabriela Stoeva have scooped their tenth gold prize in badminton at a tournament held in Mersin, Turkey.

The Bulgarian duo defeated Özge Bayrak and Neslihan Yi?it 21:19, 21:12 in the final match of the doubles' competition.

Stoevi sisters are currently the only Europeans in world's Top 15 in doubles, ranking 10th after having grabbed the prize.

   

Turkish women claim silver at U-23 world champs

Turkey's U-23 women's national team lost 3-1 to Brazil in the final of the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's U-23 World Championship on Aug. 19, settling for silver on home court.

Brazil proved too strong for their hosts, ultimately cruising to victory 25-21, 21-25, 25-19, 25-22 in the gold-medal clash played at a sold-out Ba?kent Volleyball Hall in Ankara.

Bulgaria Finishes 27th at First European Games after Claiming Ten Medals

Bulgaria claimed ten medals and finished 27th in the medal ranking of the First European Games, which took place in Baku between June 12 and 28.

Bulgaria was represented by 122 athletes, who claimed one gold, four silver and five bronze medals.

The only gold medal was claimed by sisters Stefani and Gabriela Stoevi, who won the women's doubles badminton competition on Saturday.

Turkey beats under-par Poland for volleyball gold

Turkey eased to a straight sets victory over Poland to claim the women's volleyball gold medal at the European Games on June 27.

The Poles had beaten the Turks in five sets in their pool match, but it was to be very different this time.
Turkey dominated from the opening minutes, making light work of their opponents as they took the first set 25-11.

Bulgaria's Stoevi Sisters Claim Gold at Women's Doubles Badminton in Baku

Badminton players Stefani Stoeva and Gabriela Stoeva claimed the first gold medal for Bulgaria at the First European Games in Baku after winning the final of the women's doubles tournament.

In the final, which was played on Saturday, the Stoevi sisters defeated Ekaterina Bolotova and Evgeniya Kosetskaya from Russia with 2-0 (21-12, 23-21).
