Ancient artifacts to return home from Switzerland
Fifteen ancient objects dating from the prehistoric to the Roman period are being repatriated to Greece from Switzerland by decision of a Geneva court in July last year following proceedings against an antiquities dealer.

Ancient Egypt’s 'Ushabti' figures open to visitors
The 2,700-year-old Ushabti statuettes used in funeral rituals in ancient Egypt and found in archaeological excavations in western Turkey began to be exhibited for the first time at the İzmir Archaeology Museum.
Ushabti figures, small statuettes made of wood, stone, or faience, are often found in large numbers in ancient Egyptian tombs.

Fans made figurines of celebrities thousands of years ago in İzmir
Popular artists had fans in antiquity too. Fans made figurines out of baked clay to pay homage or show their admiration to the artists of the time thousands of years ago, archaeological excavations in the Aegean province of İzmir's ancient theater of Smyrna have revealed.
Two prehistoric artifacts missing from Turkey's Şanlıurfa museum
A 10,000-year old stone seal from the Neolithic period and a 6,000-year old animal figurine from the early Bronze Age that had been hosted in the Şanlurfa Museum are now missing.

"Figurines: A Microcosm of Clay," at the Thessaloniki Archaeological Museum, presents 672 figurines from significant archaeological sites in Macedonia and Thrace that offer insights into the techniques the ancients used when working with clay and the meanings of the symbols and decorative motifs depicted. The exhibition runs through April 30, 2018. Visiting hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
