Football in Albania

The Red and Blacks, the largest group of supporters of the Albanian national football team, has announced a total boycott all the matches played in the country in response to what they call police intimidation and violence.

The South East Europe Media Organisation, SEEMO said on Monday that the cancellation of the investigative programme was "disturbing" and called for a clarification of the reasons why the show was pulled off the air.

All teachers in Albania with fewer than 20 years' experience are being tested in order to measure their abilities in the first-ever attempt to work out what professional training is required across the country.

On January 23, around 15,000 teachers all over Albania are going to take the test; around 4,000 more in the Tirana municipality have already taken it in November 2015.

The bus transporting Serbia's national soccer team was stoned in Tirana, Vice President of the Serbian Soccer Association, Savo Milosevic confirmed for Tanjug.

A group of 70 Serbian students will support the Serbian football team during the game in Elbasan, which is widely seen as a risky event after a match between the two teams in Belgrade ended in a brawl last year.

The Albanian football association announced on October 1 that the Serbian students had been invited to Elbasan by their Albanian colleagues.  

The Albanian football federation, FSHF, has accused UEFA of double standards after its Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body awarded Russia three points after its Euro 2016 qualifier with Montenegro had to be abandoned owing to fan violence in Podgorica.  

Albania rejected proposal to play new match

BELGRADE -- The Football Association of Serbia (FSS) said their Albanian counterparts have rejected a proposal for a replay of the EURO 2016 qualifying match.

UEFA's disciplinary committee on Oct. 24 awarded Serbia a 3-0 victory in their aborted Euro 2016 qualification match with Albania, but deducted them three points.
      
Albania's football federation responded by saying they would appeal the decision.
      

Albania on Oct. 19 condemned the burning of its flag during a football match in Serbia, the latest in a series of incidents aggravating political tensions between Belgrade and Tirana.

BELGRADE - The abandoned European championship qualifier between Serbia and Albania will most likely be played again on neutral ground, the Belgrade-based daily Vecernje Novosti learns from a source close to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
