Stojkovic: We have put Serbia back on map of European football

BELGRADE - The head coach of the Serbia men's national football team Dragan Stojkovic said on Friday his squad had succeeded in putting Serbia back on the map of European football.

Stojkovic said this after receiving his fourth-career Football Association of Serbia (FSS) Golden Ball Award for Best Coach of The Year.

Dzajic unanimously elected new FSS president

STARA PAZOVA - Red Star Belgrade legend Dragan Dzajic was unanimously elected new Football Association of Serbia (FSS) president on Tuesday.

At an FSS Assembly meeting in Stara Pazova near Belgrade, Dzajic was the sole candidate for the post after former Serbia international Nemanja Vidic withdrew his candidacy on Monday.

Football referee brought in by police after scandalous match

The match between Spartak from Subotica and Radnicki from Nis ended in a 2-0 victory for the home team, with both goals scored from the penalty spot.

But the decision to award the second penalty in particular caused a storm of negative reactions in Serbia over these past two days - namely, the referee called an obviously non-existent foul in the box (see the moment here).
