Iberia airline connecting Ljubljana and Madrid in August
Brnik – Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport has a new flight connection to Madrid since Monday, operated by the Spanish air carrier Iberia. It will fly to the Spanish capital twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, until the end of August. Airport operator Fraport Slovenija would like to see the route become year-round as soon as possible.

New international arrivals terminal of 'Traian Vuia' International Airport in Timisoara, inaugurated
The "Traian Vuia" International Airport in Timisoara (AIT) has inaugurated, on Thursday, the new international passenger arrivals terminal, after the completion of the first stage of the investment project of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, partly funded from non-reimbursable European funds.
Traffic steadily picking up at Ljubljana Airport
Brnik – The Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport has seen traffic tick up at the start of the summer tourism season. Scheduled flights to eleven destinations and charter flights to twenty destinations are currently available, with 2,000-2,500 passengers passing through the airport daily.

Brussels Airlines returns to Ljubljana airport
Brnik – Air carriers keep returning to Ljubljana airport as, after more than a one-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a Brussels Airlines aircraft touched down at Brnik again on Monday. The flag carrier of Belgium currently operates three flights a week to and from Ljubljana, and the number of flights is expected to increase.

Cyprus Airways: Spreads wings from Thessaloniki to Larnaca
Cyprus Airways, the Cypriot national carrier, announced its summer program to 11 destinations to support the tourism recovery effort.
The company will operate flights from Cyprus to Greece at 4 airports in the country: Thessaloniki every Tuesday and Saturday, Heraklion every Thursday and Sunday, Preveza every Wednesday, and Skiathos every Monday and Thursday.
Air passenger transport down 76.2 pct in Q1 2021 (INS)
Air passenger transport decreased by 76.2% in the first quarter of 2021, from 3,851,100 passengers to 916,500, due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, according to data centralized by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
Ljubljana Airport gets new passenger terminal
Brnik – A new passenger terminal was inaugurated at the Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport on Wednesday. The expansion brings 10,000 square metres of new surfaces, including more space for security checks and baggage handling, and more check-in points. Once opened for business on 1 July, the airport will be able to handle more than 1,200 passengers per hour.

Five airlines apply for new subsidies to fly to Slovenia
Ljubljana – Five airlines have applied for subsidies to fly to Ljubljana in the second round of a call designed to improve air links to the Slovenian capital. A total of EUR 764,640 is available, the Economy Ministry told the STA on Friday.
Lufthansa: Seven new Greek destinations this summer
Lufthansa is more than doubling its itinerary in Greece with the addition of seven brand new destinations for this summer. From May 21, 2021, Aktio, Chania, Corfu, Kavala, Kos, Mykonos, and Zakynthos will welcome the German air carrier for the first time. This is Lufthansa's largest increase in its 62 years of presence in Greece.
Pandemic slashes Q1 passenger numbers at Ljubljana airport
Brnik – The number of people travelling through Slovenia’s biggest airport in the first quarter of this year was only a tenth of that recorded in the first quarter of last year, which was in the most part still unaffected by the coronavirus pandemic.
